Race 7 – The lightly raced (10) LONG HAUL BAY could be worth a big look in this wide open elongated sprint. Chad Brown trainee is unbeaten in two starts, including a romping score in the Grade 3 Bay Shore at Aqueduct. If he's keen enough to rate off the early speed types, he could fall into a great trip from his outside post. (7) WILD SHOT finally turned it around in a big way in the Grade 3 Pat Day Mile at Churchill Downs. It had been more than 7 months since the day he broke his maiden last September over that same course. Can he transfer that winning form here to Belmont? (11) PETROV deserves a chance to still be a top-flight 3-year-old. Trainer Ron Moquett got caught up in some Derby fever with the son of Flatter after a pair of decent efforts earlier this spring. Now with some time between races and back sprinting, he could be a major factor. (8) AMERICAN ANTHEM is clearly going to be the one to beat, but he has run two horrible races sandwiched in between three promising outings. He'll likely get hammered at the windows once again, which means I'll steer clear. He has to be considered in some of your multi-race tickets.
Race 9 – (2) RALLY CRY has always been held in high regard by his connections. The quarter-million yearling purchase in 2015 has only been off the board once in eight career starts. The son of Uncle Mo appears to be rounding back into form once again for trainer Todd Pletcher and will offer a significant edge in terms of wagering value on the board. (9) MOR SPIRIT has come along very nicely for trainer Bob Baffert in his most recent pair of starts. He was superb winning the Essex Stakes at Oaklawn Park before pulverizing his rivals in the Sexton Mile at Lone Star Park. Because of the connections, he'll clearly be overbet and he will face significant pressure for the early lead. (12) AWESOME SLEW would likely be better off tracking the pace in here from that outside post. Last out, at Churchill Downs, he dropped way off the lead from an inside post and came up just short. Traffic issues notwithstanding, the son of Awesome Again has been no worse than third in his last seven starts and will be rallying yet again. (5) SHARP AZTECA is returning from Dubai, is back over a course where he ran one of his worst career races, figures to be battling for the lead every step of the way and may get a little too much attention at the windows. If he runs his best race, he's a factor.

Race 9 – (8) CARSON CITY FIVE has run a pair of bang-up races in his most recent couple of starts. He likes the track, gets the benefit of a big rider change and should offer a hint of value. (5) DRIVEN JORDAN is still seeking his first win in New Mexico since shipping over from Oaklawn Park for trainer Justin Evans. Look for him to be prominently spotted on or near the lead. (6) GRAND SUNSET exits a key race and will likely be far spotted closer to the pace here with Alfredo Juarez, Jr on board. (9) A WARRIOR DEFINED gets a chance to bounce back after an inexplicably poor outing last time out.
"The Fast Track", hosted by Steven Bortstein, is celebrating its 20th year on the air in 2017. The show is presented by SunRay Park and Casino and airs weekend mornings at 10am ET on FOX AM1340/93.9FM and on the I Heart Radio app through our station's website.
