The Monday Show Prep

I have a limited time to write everything down for the show, so let's quickly get this out of the way.

I've watched this fight three times..... I don't mind (so much) the official decision of the draw. It can be argued a number of ways that this was as even a fight I've seen in some time.

For the record, with each of the viewings I've done of this fight, I always come out with Golovkin winning, but it's either 8 rounds to 4 or 7-to-5. I have no idea what fight Adelaide Bird was watching, but it clearly wasn't the same one I witnessed.

For the record, Bird scored the fight 10-to-2 in favor of Alvarez. There is no scenario under which I could have reversed more than 4 rounds in my mind.

No, it wasn't pretty.

But after 4,273 days, the curse is over from the 2006 Rose Bowl.

USC beats Texas in double overtime, and it was worth every second.

How is this man's name not on the short list of coaches on the proverbial "hot seat"?

I don't like calling for jobs. I resent the idea that we should be encouraging businesses to fire people, even if the individual doing the job is failing to live up to some people's expectations.

But the Saints are 0-2 this season and they got worked over at home. So something's gotta give.

For many of us growing up in the 80's, this man was one either one of our idols or our most treacherous of villains.

He was Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. And for more than a decade as one of the most divisive characters in the old days of the World Wrestling Federation, he was the architect of some of the great schemes to try and topple Hulk Hogan's bid as world heavyweight champion.

Whether it was the epic run of Andre The Giant or the sudden "heel turn" of Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff, Heenan was the mastermind between all those pre-approved scripts, and he carried them off brilliantly.

Heenan, officially named Raymond Louis Heenan, died this weekend at the age of 72.

He will be missed.

You'll understand with the video below.
