Who was the biggest winner in the deal between the Padres and Manny Machado? If it’s not Machado, who just became one of the richest players in the sport, and if it’s not the Padres, who will gradually ease back into relevance after more than a decade of obscurity, then it’s gotta be Mike Trout, because if Manny is really worth 300 million, I cant imagine what Trout’s asking price will be in 2020.
And yes, as a Dodgers fan, I went out of my way to find a photo that doesn't show Machado wearing Dodger blue. Because I'd just as soon ignore the fact he played in that uniform last season! Call me bitter, that's fine. Change my mind!
