Wednesday Morning Monologue -- Pros and Cons of Hockey Fights

We all agree that fights in hockey games are cool. After all, it’s that part of the game we see most often on social media. But that in turn, is part of the problem. The bulk of sports consumption is done online, and if our impression of the game is watching two guys square up on each other, the sport itself loses its intent. If a star player is ever seriously injured in a fight, the league has only itself to blame.

Watch the video here of the most recent fight, which took place this week during a playoff game between the Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes.

Check out my thoughts on this and more in this latest installment of the Morning Monologue, as heard today on FIRST SPORTS!
