I'm by no means suggesting the Rockets change who they are. They're a predominantly outside shooting team that enjoys the high-risk, high-reward nature of their offensive approach, but the risk can be cataclysmic if you continue to employ those tactics hoping for the beneficial whistle of the referee at every turn.
The Houston Rockets can complain all they want about the officiating in Sunday night’s opening game of their series with Golden State. If you’re the team that chucks up 47 three-pointers and makes less than 30 percent of them, maybe some time learning to take better shots, grabbing rebounds or getting back on defense could be incorporated into learning how to gripe when foul calls don’t go your way. You can't call out the need for better officiating while also maintaining a well-below average shooting percentage. It reeks of desperation and only makes the Warriors seem that much more efficient, in a game where they clearly weren't at their best as well.
