At long last, and only at the behest of several states creating their own policies, the NCAA has decided to enact its own provisions allowing so-called student athletes to be compensated for their name, image and likeness. The decision is a major and sudden shift for the NCAA which had long resisted paying or remunerating anyone for their athletic endeavors.
