The Four Corners Balloon Rally is back September 27-29, 2024. This year’s event features exciting venue changes and a lineup of activities that promise to delight attendees of all ages. Best of all, admission to all balloon events is FREE!
Morning Ascensions
Friday, September 27: Ascension at Lake Farmington
Kick off the rally with a breathtaking morning ascension from 7:00 to 9:00 AM at Lake Farmington. Lake access fee will be waived, and the road will be closed to through traffic past the campground during the event. Those who wish to avoid crowds are encouraged to head to off-site viewing locations along the projected flight path. These include Saddleback Park, Lions Wilderness Park & San Juan College. PLEASE NOTE: Parking lot B which is located in front of the Henderson Fine Arts Center, will be closed on Friday to accommodate preparation for San Juan College’s evening Balloon Glow.
Saturday & Sunday, September 28-29: Ascensions at Piedra Vista High School
On Saturday and Sunday mornings, the balloon ascensions will take place at a new location: Piedra Vista High School from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. Attendees can enjoy concessions available for purchase while watching the colorful balloons mass ascend. Overflow parking and shuttle services will be available from Lions Wilderness Park to ensure easy access for all.
All three morning ascensions can be watched from home! San Juan College’s KSJE will livestream the coverage on their Facebook page.
Evening Glows
Friday, September 27: Evening Balloon Glow at San Juan College
As the sun sets, head to San Juan College for the magical Balloon Glow on the lawn at the Henderson Fine Arts Center from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The evening will feature food vendors, performances by Joe Tohonnie Jr. and The White Mountain Apache Crown Dancers, the San Juan College African Drumming Ensemble, a Hoop Dancer, student-sponsored booths, carnival games, balloon twisters, face painting, and more.
Saturday, September 28: Evening Balloon Glow in Downtown Farmington
Downtown Farmington will light up with the Saturday evening Balloon Glow at the Farmington Civic Center Plaza from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Join the community for this enchanting event, but please note that W Arrington Street will be closed from N. Behrend to N Allen, along with the paved lot across from the Civic Center.
