Broncos lose the coin toss and started with the ball on offense.
After a couple of productive runs by JK Dobbins, on 3rd and 4 Bo Nix took a deep shot down the right sideline to Courtland Sutton and the ball went right through his hands and the Broncos were forced to punt quickly into the game.
Philly started from their own 20 yard line after a touchback. The Broncos defense was able to force a 3 and out on the Eagles offense and after a nice return by Marvin Mims, Denver's offense would get their 2nd crack at it from their own 32 yard line with 12:08 remaining in the 1st quarter.
Marvin Mims gained 9 yards on a Jet Sweep to kick off the drive and RJ Harvey gained 2 yards to give the Broncos their first 1st down of the day. On 3rd and 6, Courtland Sutton caught a pass right past the sticks for 7 yards to keep the drive moving. Facing another 3rd and 6 a couple plays later, Nix completed a pass to Sutton but he would be short of the line to gain. Bo JUST missed a streaking Trent Sherfield down the left side and then was sacked for a 13 yard loss by Za'Darius Smith on the next play to take Denver out of Field Goal range. Jeremy Crawshaw punted it down to the Philly 10 yard line where the Eagles offense would take over in a tie game with 11:52 remaining in the 1st half.
Hurts hit AJ Brown on 3rd down to gain the initial first down of the drive to the Eagles and on 3rd and 17 a couple plays later, Hurts found DeVonta Smith streaking down the right sideline for a 52 yard completion to get Philadelphia deep into Broncos territory. Denver's defense forced a quick 3 and out with Zach Allen thumping Jalen Hurts on the 3rd down pass with the ball falling incomplete. After the punt, Broncos offense started at their own 45 yard line. A monster DPI call should've gone against Kelee Ringo in coverage against Marvin Mims but was picked up. Eagles went into halftime leading 10-3.
Eagles started with the ball out of half from their own 26 yard line. On 2nd down, Hurts hit Smith on a slant and he took it up field for a 21 yard gain. A couple plays later, Hurts found Saquon Barkley streaking down the right sideline for a 47 yard touchdown. Eagles extend their lead 17-3. 4 plays, 74 yards
Now in a 14 point hole, the Broncos offense started from their own 18 yard line. Broncos do their version of tush push to get their initial first down of the drive. Bo Nix then scrambled for 9 and the Broncos were near midfield. JK Dobbins had a 17 yard run but then Bo Nix got called for intentional grounding which backed it up to the Philly 48. Broncos would punt it and the Eagles would fair catch it at their own 9 yard line with 7:18 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
Philadelphia gained its initial first down on the drive on a pass in the flat to Goedert for 11 yards. On 3rd and 7, Pat Surtain broke up a slant intended for AJ Brown. Eagles punt, touchback.
Starting from their own 20, the Eagles couldn't do much as Nik Bonitto was able to sack Hurts on 3rd down and Philly punted it back to Denver.
The Broncos offense strung together one of it's best drives of the day in the waning moments of the 3rd quarter with quick passes to Courtland Sutton and RJ Harvey. As we began the 4th quarter, Dobbins got Denver inside the Red Zone for the 1st time today. JK continued putting the offense on his back all the way to the first touchdown of the game, from two yards out. Broncos cut into the Eagles lead 17-10 with 13:11 remaining in the game.
Eagles called for a holding call on the 1st play of their next drive backing the ball up to a 1st and 20. On 3rd and 13, Ja'Quan McMillian knifed through the line for a huge sack. Philly punted it back to Denver, who would start their next drive from their 28 yard line with 11:08 remaining.
Facing a 3rd and 15, Bo Nix fired a laser to Courtland Sutton who caught the pass and took it upfield to the 11 yard line and on the next play, Nix hit Evan Engram for his first touchdown as a Bronco and Denver opted to go for 2, with Nix hitting Troy Franklin on the right side of the end zone and the Broncos go back in front 18-17!!!
The Eagles thought they had a huge conversion to DeVonta Smith down the right sideline but it was called back on an illegal shift. The Eagles were forced to punt on 4th down and the Broncos had the opportunity to close the game out on offense.
The Broncos offense put together ANOTHER clutch drive, marching down the field on 11 plays and 50 yards, working the clock for 3:49 and kicking a massive field goal to go ahead 21-17.
With about a minute left in the game, the Eagles worked the ball into Denver territory with the aid of a DPI call against JL Skinner but on the final play of the game, Hurts heaved it into the end zone and the pass fell incomplete. Broncos win a massive game 21-17!!
