(1) BROKEN UP might find himself on or near the lead in what appears to be a rather paceless event. The John Martin trainee tracked the early lead before tiring in deep stretch on the main track at Los Alamitos last time out. Prior to that, he'd hit the board in each of his last two turf outings. He'll get the benefit of a rail trip, gets a big rider change and should be tough to run down if the pace comes up slow.
