The Rooney Rule is back at the center of conversation, thanks in no small part to the actual practice of businessmen doing business. The bottom line is about the man who signs the checks and makes the decisions. It’s fine to want minorities in coaching positions, that’s something we can rationally argue about. But the culture change will begin when we all aspire to something greater. Run a front office, take over a business, hire people as you see fit. That’s real change.
