TNT NBA Analyst, Charles Barkley joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show. The only topic under discussion is his meeting with LIV Tour CEO Greg Norman and the possibility of announcing LIV Tour events. He says he understands that criticism is inevitable if he agrees to a deal, but finds most of it to be selective outrage. He details the next steps in their negotiations and maintains they have yet to make him an offer of any kind, however, if their offer is commensurate with the kind of crazy money they have already doled out, he’ll take it too.
Charles Barkley: “LIV has not offered me anything, so everything is really just speculation right now...I know most of the numbers that’s been reported. I know somebody said Phil Mickelson’s got $200M! I’m like, you take that money! Somebody said Dustin Johnson got $150M, and Bryson (DeChambeau) and Brooks (Koepka). I’m like, $150M to play golf 15 times a year? I have no problem with those guys taking that money. And if they offer me something crazy, I’m going to take it too!”
